And now, I will tell you something about this magnificent artist, Ed Sheeran. He is a British singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer who sang in church since he was a child, and even at the age of 16 dropped out of high school to pursue his dream. So, he ended up moving to London to pursue his artistic career. While living in London, in 2011, he released an EP that caught the attention of Elton John and has been internationally successful ever since.

His first hit, which you probably remember, “The A Team”, tells the true story about the life of a homeless prostitute named Angel, whom he met while performing a concert at a homeless shelter. Ed was really impressed by her sad stories. In fact, the title of the song “The A Team” alludes to a “class A” drug similar to crack or heroin, and for which many people in the United Kingdom die every year. This song was nominated for a Grammy.

But that was not all, shortly after, he won the awards for British revelation artist and British male soloist at the Brit Awards, and even acted as the opening act for Taylor Swift on her Red Tour for several months between 2013 and 2014.

His second album, “X” from 2014, was even more successful than the first, leading him to sell more than ten million copies worldwide. The single “Thinking Out Loud” won the song of the year award. Another song from that same album that you probably know is “Sing”.

His third album “÷”, 2017’s Divide, sold 672,000 units in just one week, becoming the best-selling album behind only artists like Oasis or Adele. Amazing!! But the truth is that all the tracks from that album reached the top 20 of the UK singles chart. By that time, we had already enjoyed songs like “Castle on the Hill” and “Shape of You”, which I’m sure you know very well.

But the song that I bring you today to sing in English, and that was published after a long break due in part to the pandemic, is “Bad habits” and that was released on June 25, 2021 as the lead single from the album ” =”, “Equals”. The song alludes to his past bad habits of drinking all night and staying up late.

Being a father has changed my life. As I imagine it happens to everyone.
